Autism Family Holidays is a small family business run by Will and Andi who have a long history of working with young people on the autism spectrum, and their families.
Andi has taught young people with additional needs for over 30 years. In particular she has enjoyed working with youngsters with autism and further complex behaviours. She has also supported university students with Asperger's Syndrome, and has a Masters degree in autism and sensory needs, in which she has a passionate interest.
Will has spent nearly 30 years in the police force, during which he was a senior member of the disability and awareness support group.
We have both spent about 15 years providing respite care for young people with additional needs and autism which has helped towards us having some understanding of the difficulties faced by families who have a child with a hidden disability.
Our experience led us to take early retirement in order to focus on Autism Family Holidays.
The aim is to provide an autism-specific, safe, non-judgemental, relaxing holiday for the whole family.
Supporting families with a child or children on the autism spectrum with additional complex behaviours has made us aware how difficult it can be to have a family holiday together. We aim to address a gap in the market by offering self-catering holiday accommodation and a bespoke service for guests with autism and complex behaviours and their families/friends.
While we respect the need for families to choose whether or not they take a break as a family, we wish to promote holidays which the whole family can share together.
